The East Bridgewater Business Association was founded
on June 23, 1993 “to promote a healthy business environment
in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Its goals were to (1)
provide a unified voice for business; (2) provide a forum
for networking; (3) provide education about matters important
to businesspersons; and (4) to provide appropriate support
to community activities. The founding leaders were Ellen Scott Garvey, Bruce
Marquis, Peter P. Spagone, and Irena
Swartz.
The purpose of the Association was expanded in 2007, and most recently in 2010,
to be: “To promote a healthy and ethical business environment in East Bridgewater and to provide services to assist its members including education, networking, and fellowship.”
At this
time the Association boasts 111
members, the most in its
history.
The East Bridgewater Business Association publishes
a directory of its members each spring, a copy mailed to
every household and business in East Bridgewater. Our other
major program is the Business Expo & Family Fun Day,
which has usually been held at the Town Common on the Saturday
after Labor Day.
